The fact is that the Air Jordan III almost never happened because Jordan wanted to leave Nike at the time, however, he was convinced by his father and new designer Tinker Hatfield to stay with Nike. Jordan took this opportunity to make more demands on the level of luxury and had much more of a hand in the design process.
