Do you remember Loud records during the 90's? Mobb Deep, Big Pun, Xzibit, Tha Alkaholiks, Three 6 Mafia, M.O.P. , Dead Prez, The Beatnuts & Wu-Tang Clan are some of the artists that were on that legendary label run by Steve Rifkind who has just announced a very exciting project which will have nine modern MC's re-do the entire Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers album. The occasion is the 25th anniversary of Wu-Tang's monumental debut record and the revival of Loud Records itself which was sold to Sony Music in 2002 but has now been brought back to life again in a partnership with RED Music.

Steve Rifkin told XXL Magazine that: "It feels amazing. I always tell people Loud is probably more popular today than it was 25 years ago", which pays testament to the ressurgence of 90's hip-hop as a whole with many major 90's artists still doing big shows around the world. Rifkin has shown an ability to sign top artists again and again when he signed Akon, David Banner, Terror Squad, Remy Ma, Pharoahe Monch and others on his subsequent label SRC after the sale of Loud to Sony. So the thought of him revivng 90's hip-hop again through the continuation of Loud is tantilizing for older heads and young heads alike.

It will be very exciting to see who the nine modern MC's are who will play the characters in the remake of 36 Chambers. There's no word yet on their identities, if they are known or unknown, but there will be a major tour to support the anniversary of the record.
