Ghostface Killah Is Bringing Back The 90s On His New Album The Lost Tapes
According to Ghostface's longtime A&R Matt ''M80'' Markoff, The Lost Tapes is a big-time trip back to the mid-90s. On the 13-track project, we also find legendary Classic Hip Hop guests like Big Daddy Kane, E-40, Snoop Dogg, Masta Killa, and his boys from day one, Cappadonna and Raekwon the Chef.
The man behind the sound is the mysterious, yet established Big Ghost (some suspect it's GFK) but according to Markoff, he's a separate entity. He also says that the album's sound will please the average hip-hop fan and hardcore Wu-Tang fans alike.
Reportedly the lyrics are of the disciplined classic variety that fans have been petitioning for nearly decades now. And a quick look at the tracklist (with features on every track) shows that the lyrical firepower is explosive.
Markoff says, “Our collective goal in calling it The Lost Tapes was to bring fans back to that Ironman/Supreme Clientele/Cuban Linx era.” Adding, “We set out to revive that, update it for 2018 and just like that, we have a certified 2018 Wu-Tang banger on our hands.”
The Lost Tapes album is due soon and we can listen to the first single now titled ''Saigon Velour'' which features Snoop Dogg, E-40, and original Wu-Tang affiliate LA the Darkman.
